The very exclusive Jolie’s Club in Mumbai is eclectic, quirky and very millennial

It has to be one of the quirkiest, eclectic and luxurious places I have been to. The 20,000-sq-ft, members’-only club Jolie’s, in the posh Worli area of Mumbai makes you marvel at all the brilliantly designed spaces of its al-fresco campus, right from a mini-golf course to its gazebo, a hidden bar focused on craft cocktails, a business lounge pegged more as an innovator’s lab, a cigar lounge, a wine library and its washrooms.

The ladies’ washroom at Jolie’s

And that’s where I am going to start from, as for me, the washrooms at Jolie’s are the fanciest of them all and great conversation starters. The glitzy women’s rest room has dainty flamingo sculptures, and the men’s area has a life-size sculpture of a horse, placed very cleverly in two parts, one going in and another coming out. It’s like a fascinating, modern art installation.

The whole space has an art gallery-museum kind of feel. There is so much to see and wonder about and soak it all in.

The Tickle

The tease, more like a lobby area, where you can nibble on small deli-style eats, enjoy craft brews and a coffee selection has a double-height ceiling, marble flooring, couch seating and a grand, white piano. The space is made up of Italian marble and metal fixtures, blending the contemporary with Art Deco. An arched alcove provides a sense of intimacy for jazz and classical music aficionados.

The Seen

The Seen
An extension of Tickle, The Seen, as the name suggests, is a space for private parties and cultural showcases, including art, theatre and music.

I had the pleasure of seeing extraordinary mentalist Kruti Parekh amaze the audience with her incredible card tricks and more. I was so enamored to see her guess all the right answers of a woman guest she had never met, of course, without the guest, giving her any clues, including the name of the person she would like to go on a holiday with and where. Mind blown!

This event space also has a double-height ceiling and an impressive floor-to-ceiling liquid library and an illuminated bar. The large screen is apt for watching sports.

Bread & Bacchus

Bread & Bacchus
Inspired by the dining customs of Europe, the fine-dine restaurant is an oasis of relaxed luxury, achieved with the use of ivory tones, offset against the wooden texture. It also has a private dining space.

The Big Top

The Big Top
An homage to the great parties of centuries past, The Big Top is where you dance the night away in Mumbai art-Deco inspired decor. The spiral bar is the piece de Resistance in this dimly-lit space. It is accentuated by The jungle wallpaper, the seating in turquoise, sapphire and jade tones.

The Sunken Lounge

The Canary’s Campus
The Canary’s Campus is the leisure centre at Jolie’s, home to a sunken outdoor lounge and a mini-golf turf. During the day, the space feels light, breezy and urbane. In the evenings, it fuses with the indoor lounge with its soft light and dark landscape.

Fuma
Jolie’s cigar lounge is a quaint, round room with low, amber lighting. Rich Veridian velvets, Radial chevron ebony and drapery make for the backdrop of this cosy room.

Cabal
Cabal is Jolie’s hidden bar that has Corten Steel walls to evoke the environment of the speakeasy era.

Lumos

Lumos
Lumos is Jolie’s business centre, which has meeting rooms with round boardroom tables. The chairs enable the right seating posture, and a pool table ensures that you get the break you deserve.

Overall. Jolie’s is a fine space, apt for new-age, millennial entrepreneurs and gets a big thumbs up from Ivorystation.
