Discovering cool, new brands is always fun. At Nykaa Fashion’s very first preview of their house brands, Ivorystation found some great casual, formal, Indian, ethnic, wedding, party and athleisure wear. We went around the entire venue, set up like a vibrant, day fair, picking some of the best outfits and accessories and talking to the brand managers about what their labels’ designs stand for.
Gajra Gang
Launched in August 2021, Gajra Gang makes modern-day occasion wear such as Chanderi and organza saris, floral lehengas and contemporary Indian wear. The versatile designs and interchangeable seperates let’s one use their creativity to put together their own ensemble. We loved the breezy, floral sari, perfect for summer sangeets and the yellow kaftan and kimono-style jacket.
Likha
Quintessentially Indian, the brand’s vocabulary is desi and is inspired by Indian heritage and age-old craft techniques such as block and screen printing, Indian dyes, block print styles, gotta patti, and Lucknowi Chikankari. The outfits are a mix of structured work styles of ethnic co-ord sets, A-line cuts, and free-flowing Anarkalis.
We picked this anarkali suited for its subdued and classy look.
NA-KD
Launched in India by Nykaa Fashion in December 2021, the Scandinavian fashion label has outfits that range from work and leisure to lounge and vacation. These include separates, dresses and jumpsuits, tailored coats and jackets, knits and loungewear, denim, and shoes.
Meera Kapoor stuns in this co-ord, which can be worn at formal and informal occassions.
NYKD
Derived from the name Nykaa, inspired by its values of empowerment, inclusivity and authenticity – Nykd by Nykaa (pronounced nay-ked) is an intimate and sleepwear brand launched in October 2020. The Nykd philosophy is centred around giving women the ultimate sense of comfort and freedom as they get to know their body types.
The techno prints and multiple-size outfits have our vote.
RSVP
RSVP’s new collection by designer Nikhil Thampi is about clean cuts and lots of bling. RSVP is a label you instantly when you want to get the party started. Loved the pantsuits and shorts.
