Vita Moderna, Mumbai’s new luxury home décor store houses some of the best Italian brands

In what has now become the design destination of Mumbai, the Raghuvanshi Mill compound in Lower Parel gets a brand-new home décor store Vita Moderna.

Spanning 8,000 square feet, with high ceilings, brick walls and ample sunlight flooding in, this store creates a great ambience for luxury seekers to pick home decor pieces of their liking – whether it’s marble dining tables, leather couches, fancy lights, artsy wallpapers and anything else one might need for their luxury spaces. 

It displays products of top-notch Italian craftsmanship and brands such as ELIE SAAB Maison, Vittoria Frigerio, Alberta and Flexform. A 3-seater sofa here could start at Rs.6 lakh and go upwards to Rs.25 lakh or more, depending on what luxury seekers like.

Our favourite picks are the brown marble table from Flexform. The brand is known for its sophisticated collection in beige, greys and brown. There is also a burgundy sofa that we fell in love with. Talking about bringing these brands to India in a retail outlet, Pritesh Modi, one of the founders of the brand says, “There is a great demand for luxury furniture in India, especially post Covid. The luxury home decor market has been growing at almost 20% year on year, he tells us. Modi and his business partner have built the store on years of experience he and his business partner Akshay have had in catering to high-end clients since 2008. They have been working on lavish homes and other spaces on a project basis, flying with their clients to Italy almost every month, helping them pick the best for their homes. 

Modi tells ivorystation that he travelled to Italy, almost every month, along with his clients to show them superlative Italian products for their homes. It was only post-Covid that Modi felt the need to open a retail store, mainly to get more exposure for his brand and achieve higher sales volume, which is possible in a space where people can walk in and see what Vita Moderna has to offer.

The showroom also features a display of modern décor lights and technical lights of Delta Lights and there is also a range of Glamora Wallcoverings. Customizable to any high-resolution image of one’s choice, these wallpapers offer waterproof, organic, and acoustic options, ensuring a perfect blend of style and functionality.
